Early Life and Education of Karmvir Bhaurao Patil
Karmvir Bhaurao Patil, the visionary founder of Karmvir Bhaurao Patil Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (KBPSPM), was born on September 22, 1887, in the village of Kumbhoj in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Raised in a humble family, Bhaurao experienced firsthand the struggles faced by rural communities, particularly in accessing quality education. His father, a deeply principled man, instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and social responsibility from a young age.
Bhaurao’s early education began in his native village, where he quickly stood out for his intellectual curiosity and determination to excel despite limited resources. His passion for learning led him to continue his studies at Rajaram College in Kolhapur. During his time at Rajaram College, Bhaurao was heavily influenced by the teachings of social reformers like Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Shahu Maharaj, who advocated for the upliftment of marginalized communities through education.
